A neighborhood is not just about buildings and streets – it’s about people.
If you care about our neighborhood and would like to collaborate with other positive-minded folks to help Englewood Isles maintain its appeal and value as well as improve its sense of neighborliness, consider joining the Board of Directors. Whatever skills you have to contribute are needed, will be utilized and appreciated.
Any member in good standing of the Englewood Isles Property Owners Association Units 4,5,6 is eligible to serve on the Board of Directors. The basic commitment is one meeting a month- usually 6 – 8 pm, 2nd Wednesday of the month, at the Elsie Quirk library plus some work on the committee of your choice.
If you’re either still working or retired studies have shown that volunteering helps people who donate their time, feel more socially connected and get an endorphin and emotional boost. Volunteering has positive implications that go beyond that. A growing body of evidence suggests that people who give their time to others may also be rewarded with better physical health—including lower blood pressure, a longer lifespan plus a more engaged and enjoyable retirement. New to the neighborhood? This is a great way to meet and make new friends. All that and a better neighborhood to boot- what a deal!
Time is short- you’ve got to raise your hand now because between now and our December 13th meeting we need your name and a few introductory sentences about yourself. But please don’t wait until the last second.
Call board member Paul Powers (218 Brandywine Circle) at (941) 681-2304, or email him (firstname.lastname@example.org). Leave a message or note any time. He’ll get back to you with any other information you’d like and help get you all set.
Help make Englewood Isles your neighborhood.
